Eclipse
by   Amie

Eclipse the moon,
blank out it's nightime brilliance,
the stars fade, their magic dull,
darkness screaming for the light.

Light, hidden and elusive,
fragile and scared of abuse,
longing for the balance of it's partner,
just as the human heart, longs for it's other beat.

One cannot exist without the other,
a heart cannot cease to love,
unless ones love is not returned,
painfully empty, the darkness once again prevails.

Darkness cannot exist without light,
good cannot exist without evil,
sweet cannot exist without bitter,
and love, cannot exist without....you.
