AS LONG AS YOU ARE AMONG THE LIVING
by Vanessa K Wallace

As long as you are among the living
I shall live in fear
I will shutter when I talk
And cry when your name I hear

As long as you breathe on earth, as I
I will take in less air
And live my life as a lie

As long as you sleep I will be awake
Waiting for you to rise
And my smile... I shall fake

As long as you hate yourself
The longer I will doubt
I will try to act like I don't need help

As long as you are living in this town
I will be your slave
And you shall wear the crown

As long as you feel nothing
The more I will grieve
knowing that I need love
And knowing there is nothing you need

As long as you are among the living
My life will never be complete
I will feed my soul to you
and my heart you will eat

As long as you are among the living
I will be living in the shadows of your lies
I will never be the same
Until the day you bleed and die
