No Occasion
by   Wrigley

I paid homage to your memory today,
No occasion....

I thought of your smile to which angels aspire
Heard your voice, that music pretends to equal
Felt the smooth of your hands, driven by pearls.

I imagined your mouth, which wine emulates,
to fan a sweet kiss, and intoxicate time.

With oblivion for transport and soft petals of tears,
I lingered in the blue-light lure of your eyes,
which summon emotion, and evoke love to rival.

As I pondered your beauty (an inspiration to art),
I gave grace to heaven from the wings of my heart
as I soared in the midst of the cloud's envious eye.

Like breath consents effort (no occasion to will),
so does love need not reason,
to impel all your worth.
