It Still Remains (Call Me a Fool)
by Joel L. Reid

Angel-song, soft and lovely over the distant hill,
Reminds me of how beautiful a sound can be,
And its echoes ring true within me still,
As I long and ache for its source to see.

A flash of sky, the hue of golden sunlight on silken mane,
And the dance of dewdrops on lips of wine
Awakens that dormant desire still strong, however vain,
But there it remains, regardless- for all of time!
