Hummingbird
by Ekow  Amissah

In teasing breeze of fluttering lips
My seasons and harvests have passed slowly
Each with its own story of wisdom and beauty
Etched in the rounds of breasts and belly that have borne and pleasured
A time and a thousand for you, my beloved

A day like this is joy when you tell the tales I adore:
"Anita" as only you, whose story is mine, can tell
"I Love You" that awakens and soothes me at once
A day like this is for you and me to hold hands again
To remember why we are so good for each other.

I am in awe that you found and made me your friend
I marvel at the things you now mean to me
I know we will last forever as our story is displayed today
I dedicate this birthday to you, my great love
And the rounds that come alive a time and a thousand times for you
