Valentine Gift
by Albert (aka: Al) William Beck

What makes a worthwhile Valentine gift?
Would candy supply the appropriate lift?
A book, even flowers are traditionally nifty.
Look, I've ruled out diamonds, if you're getting my drift.
A subscription to TV Guide could be thoughtful and thrifty,

Or a night on the town for a sweetheart's date.
How 'bout something you also might use?
(Nyaah, a bit too shifty.)
Well, no matter the token, Love's symbol will rate,
As long as you don't bring it to her several days late.
