St Valentine's Day
by david  payne

Oh winter with your trees so bare
Your frost, your snow, your cold night air,
I love thee more than summer,

Who's warmth cannot replace,
The magic of this special day
That you alone embrace.

What tender memories you must possess
Of love, of joy, of happiness.

How lucky to know the words we seek
That lovers in your presence speak.

So, not merely for myself I say
Thank you for St. Valentines Day.
