Next to You, Next to Me
by Robert Barton Rushing

Lying next to you, lying next to me
your body pressed against mine
I am sublimely happy
my heart is thine

Your head on my shoulder
your skin on mine
I cannot get over
this bliss so fine

I have never felt so happy
never been filled up so thick
if any more joy fills me
I think it'll make me sick

I don't know how happy,
how blessed, or lucky
it's possible to be
but I feel now, that the limit is me

The world is big
and everyone in it
should be jealous as pigs
of me at this minute

As I lie next to you
and you next to me
your head on my shoulder
my cup running over
