Bipolar
by Mary Elizabeth Templin

The darkest of the night
The sharpest of the pain
The long and endless days
The hardest to explain

The sadness hiding within
The tears that have fallen down
Not even knowing why
My moods go round and round

Trying so hard
With a smile upon my face
To hide all the shame
That my illness brings to blame

Scars that had wounded me
I won't forget those endless days
That stay with me forever
Bipolar that haunts me all together

Fighting so hard with all the pain
I look at my life, I have to survive
With all the roller coasters I've rode
It's time to stay strong and look past the road
Bipolar can't kill me
I am so strong
Knowing my illness
I will move on
