Garden
by Jamie Robert Harris

There was a garden beneath this moonlit wall
with a rose at its center more beautiful than them all
Its vines grow, telling the story of a haunted past
this garden- a paradise found at last

Helping the hurt forget the past that does not matter
A rose so tender every pedal this star in the night
That keeps shinning bringing darkness to light

May this be a secret this garden found
Beyond a forest and away from this world so round
It is like love from a long time ago
coming back warming the night as though
The cool breeze is a peaceful summer's air

Look into the eyes of the guest gathered by the wall
They sparkle like sapphire when the garden calls
Memories that never leave were made here
Where a lake was seen thru trees that stood without fear

Crystal clear, seeing for miles, the beauty of this land
with faith holding on to a lovers hand
Mine warms the winters as her smile is the footprints in the snow
This was not the truth; others made it cold to suffer, hurt to survive
I lived a lie just pretending to be by their side
Now I escape to a garden of happiness, a peaceful place to hide
