The Silence of Love
by Lorenzo Maurice Davis
The silence of love.
That's the only thing I ever wanted from you,
Someone who understands, someone to listen, too.
The silence of love,
Why is it so hard to find in a world that talks too much,
And laughs at the sound of my voice?
The love of silence,
Could it be something desperately desired
But rarely ever heard?
Or could it be something everyone can see
But nobody can feel?
Can somebody tell me- is love really silent?
Is love really real?
The silence of love is the only thing that prevents violence,
Yet, so few people have it,
Love has empowered my relationships
Even though nothing was spoken,
I was still hoping for the silence of love to be awoken
That is when I decided
That it was not the time to be silent about love,
When the noise of hate kept me awake.
The only thing I remember
Is that it was our silence
That attracted us on our first date.
Silence is the key
When the heart feels unfulfilled
And the love is so deep,
A little bit of understanding and listening
Takes a grown man and woman
