Beauty Kissed Me
by Robert Anthony James
Beauty kissed me
with the strength of a thousand suns
O if I could only capture her in the naked dawn
for all eternity,
Then Beauty would always be with me
like a passionate stream that forever runs
into the deep blue sea
Why come upon me so quickly, O silent night?
I'll endure thy treachery til the coming bright,
and thy clouds be defeated
My eyes shall labor in thee
until they are treated from thy blight
Walk with me O stars of the night-
Wait! there beyond the eastern shore...
is that the break of daylight
coming across the waves of ancient dreams?
And there! in front, Beauty riding on a beam.
