my angel
There was an angel from heaven above
who was sent to earth for me to love,
with wings of glitter and stary eyes
rosey cheeks and a smile so wide.
her face always blushing when i was around,
she made me happy and very proud.
though many years of happy times she had given to me,
i could not keep my angel; it just was not meant to be.
now i've said all i can; its time to let you go.
you were my only love, how much you already know.
from time to time i wonder how much i meant to you.
now that you have left me, there's no more i can do.
so once again, to god i pray,
please help me, lord, get through this day.
a smile appears upon my face.
happy thoughts, there's no disgrace.
i march along with all my pride
knowing that i don't have to hide.
the pain i have stays inside.
i'm walking with god; he's by my side.
i try so much to hide this pain that burns inside my heart.
these memories i will always keep now that we're apart.
