One By One

By: Shaun Jason Smith

So many stars, so little time
I join each one up, with one bright line

One by one, the connections made
Representing the life, left out to fade

On this bed, my still body lays
A world unknown, it lost our days

So many stars, so small and bright
Similar to your eyes, lighting my night

One by one, the twinkle it shines
Just like your lips, frozen in time

And on my bed, my still body lays
A world so full of unknowns, it lost our days
