White Moons

By: James Walters

White moons rise silently,
And God is seen,
Not in the world,
Not in a dream.

The image, found by a man
Whose eyes
Ignore the earth,
Ignore the skies.

Though blind of earth,
The gift divine
Had come when prayers
For sight had died.

White moons
may not be mine to see,
Unanswered prayers,
I have but few.

But gifts from God
I still can find,
Not in white moons,
But in your eyes.
