There once was a time
I lived in a happy world,
but too soon, you left me,
leaving me a sad and lonely girl.
The happiness I once felt
all at once disappeared,
leaving me pain and heartache,
exactly what I had feared.
I tried to move on
and start my life anew,
but the pain was overwhelming,
as were my memories of you.
So I climbed into my shell,
hoping to just whither away;
I could not bear the thought
of never holding you another day.
It's been so long now
since that dreaded day,
