My Angel, My Friend

By: Rach Boyer

Of all the people special to me,
Abbie is the greatest friend, you’ll see.

She continues to stand by my side,
Through life’s constant, bumpy roller coaster ride.

We have shared memories, happy and sad,
And we’ve even made each other mad.

Her kind heart is like a rose,
Forever blooming wherever it goes.

With her brown eyes so caring and true,
Without her I don’t know what I would do.

We laugh and giggle and shed many a tear,
And when she is near I have no fear.

Sometimes she likes to be the boss,
But either way, I’m not at a loss.

We have our differences and we fight,
In the end, everything will be just right.

Our friendship is unique or one of a kind,
More than anything I could ever find.

We’ve gone through this circle of life together,
I know that it will last forever.

We’ve grown up together; it has gone so fast,
But what we have is bound to last.

We both like the calmness of the beach,
As we watch the sun rise beyond our reach.

From gossiping, to tickle fights, to Mac-n-Cheese,
Or the endless nights doing whatever we please.

From dancing, to long talks at night, and going to the mall,
And the numerous hours spent on each phone call.

Summer nights riding around with no place to go,
Where we were going, we didn’t really know.

The late mornings of chocolate milk and Lucky Charms,
And my bad hair days, oh, what an alarm!

The many boyfriends who caused us great pain,
And drove us completely and utterly insane.

But we made each other see
Just what big jerks guys can really be.

Those are the times I will always cherish,
And I hope they will never ever perish.

We learned many lessons over the years,
And wiped away each other's many tears.

She is there to catch me when I fall,
A day with her is never dull.

She is a precious gift that gold cannot buy.
That is a fact I will not deny.

She is like an angel sent from up above,
Surrounding me with her endless love.

She has been there from the very start,
For that I thank her from the bottom of my heart.
