It Was A Dark And Stormy Night

By: Douglas William Thomson

She was just an older woman
Her legs were lovely and long,
Her eyes were as bright as diamonds
She was my heart's love song.

She knew how to love me
Oh! She was a beautiful sight,
Our first kiss lasted so long
It was a dark and stormy night.

Then the wind picked up
I set my sails in the breeze,
For loving her was like a hurricane
She could bring me to my knees.

Time after time after time
I loved her with all my might,
But time has passed me by
Since that dark and stormy night.

Remembering is oh so easy
When your love has sailed away,
The memories are still painful
But the pain will be gone some day.

My nights are still dark and stormy
And there is a light that will shine,
For when I set my sails again
I know that love will be mine.
