Lestat's Lament
Oh, could but I tread the light
Amidst my mortal brothers,
Blessed by God, not cursed by Satan
To exile from all others.
A creature, driven not to live
By taking another's soul.
To know a love of heart, not blood
And a life full, rich and whole.
I'd cast aside a thousand years
In moonlight sculpted prison,
For but a glimpse of one sunrise
With one to share the vision.
