WAIT.*).)

By: Nury W Mandujano

Desperately, helplessly, I cry,
Quietly, patiently lovingly you reply.
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate,
And you so gently replied and told me to wait.
I asked you why and you did not reply.
Now quietly and softly I learned of my fate,
As you replied once again... for me to wait...
So I slump in my chair and wait... waiting for WHAT??
You seemed to whisper and your words penetrated my mind...
Then you told me you'll give me a sign...

You would shake the heavens and darken the sun,
You would cause the mountains to run...
All you seek, I could give, and pleased you would be.
You would have what you want...
You'd know the depth of my love for who you are
And not for what you have...
You'd learn how to see through the clouds of despair,
You'd learn to trust just knowing I am there;
You'd know the joy of living for someone again in me.
When darkness and silence are all you could see,
You'd experience the fullness of love,
As the memory of me descends like a dove;
You'd know that I would be there just like from the start,
But you will still not know the depth of my heart.
The glow of my comfort late at night,
The warmth I give you when you walk out of sight,
The depth that's beyond just getting
what you asked of a princess,
In search of her prince,
You never know... should your solitude quickly flee,
Could that mean I am the right one for thee...
Yes your dreams for that loved one overnight would come true...
And I would never let loose what I have found in you.
So be silent my prince, and in time you will see,
That the greatest of gifts is to get to know me,
And though it may always seem late...
Just remember to always wait.
