seasons

By: gloria joyce james

together we've seen the turn of every season
things, as the seasons, change for a reason
maybe i was blinded by my lonely heart
all i know this season finds us apart

the spring we met was sunny and bright
full of hope, love into the late nights
we both thought we had found a friend
never believed it would come to a end

summer found us and our love grew
time was so special i spent with you
as the season, our love was on fire
filled with laughter, love and desire

fall came in fast and the changes came
and for some of this i accept the blame
the leafs turn from green to golden brown
and sweet smiles turn to sad frowns

winter found us with a bitter chill
gone was the magic, gone were the thrills
we tried so hard, but the love grew cold
when spring returned, we finally let go
