Loneliness

By: Ciara Dominguez

The sky is dark indigo as the pen I write with
The moon peeks weakly through massive grey clouds
The owl's call is unaccompanied in the silent darkness
And so am I
So I am alone without you
Small and vunerable as I have never been
The world grows mammoth as I shrink even deeper
Into the loneliness
I feel from distancing myself from you

Whatever words I said, I didn't mean them
However clumsy my tongue was to say how beautiful you are
Whenever I would scowl and stare at you in hatred
It was transitory and insignificant to how I feel
You are and will remain
The purest and brightest
The quickest and deepest
The most loved and lovely
The bravest and most brilliant
The rawest, truest and most inspirational
Individual I will ever know
