Story About a Man

By: K. W. K.

This is a story about a man
Honest eyes and told he is perfect
Blue or green, they never stay the same
Beautiful hair, so she'd say
He stands by her side and never turns his head
He'll touch her face and kiss her mouth

Up in sky where the trees stand proud
A leaf is blown and fallen to the ground
Loneliness to all that ever wasted tears
And a heart I seem to loathe
In my hands I'll never let go

She has a pretty face, she hides in make-up
Beautiful skin, she clothes in darkness
And hair with such grace she dyes in disgrace
He stands by her side and never looks away
He'll caress her skin and kiss her face

When we were young we knew everything
But still I find I'm not the man I seem to be
Loneliness to all that ever wasted tears
And a heart I seem to loathe
In my hands I'll never let go

This is a story about a man
He'll sit by the curb and wait for her
When the sun breaks away for the moon to set
Just like the promises she'll break with kisses to make up for
He stands by her side and finds she's never there
With a heart he seems to loathe
For in his hands he never lets go
