FLOWERS IN WINTER

By: Arielle T.

You came into my life
When I was not looking
The song you were singing
Couldn't make me stop smiling.

A simple 'thanks' was all it took
To bring us both on this path
Of finding and knowing...
And everything feels so right.

So strange, yet, wonderful
It's all so queer
How new life is stirring
In the dead of winter

Something's melting,
That which buried our hearts
Leaves waiting for spring
Are reaching out, quivering.

Lives unfolded
Souls laid bare
Locks unfastened
Minds set free.

We will follow this path
Wherever it leads us
We will follow this path
To our hearts.

A chance so rare
This winter solstice brings
Will we be singing
The first song of spring?
