MARIE AND ME..

By: JIM THE POET

Remember the starry, windswept night,
Your warm hands were in mine?
Angels holding your floral dress upright…
Moonlight swam around our shadows.
The world... caught in its stride…

Your smile glowed away that night,
Like a thousand suns on a warm, blue seaside,
Equal hearts beat hasty retreats,
In the gaze of your dark blue eyes.

Rosy mist in the air….
We dance the summer and rain tonite.
Your laughter bounces off the glass,
Resounding joy and mirth rings in our minds.

Holding you up, I feel you here….
Near, far, everywhere,
Your soul is next to mine.
Someone deep inside tells me,
I have here -- an answer to my prayers, at last.
