Fireflies

By: Brittany Elaine Stacy

As we laid there in the dark,
Starring up at what seemed like fireflies,
out of our reach,
I was thinking of how life is after death.

Soon the morning came
and left us covered in a blanket of dew.
I leaned over and softly kissed you on the lips,
And I could then reach the fireflies,
That earlier were out of my reach.
