The Void
by James  Walters

The void has captured him,
Drawing him inside the blackness.
Just a hired hand,
He wanted to escape,
But never really tried.
A hollow feeling wrapped itself
Around his ambition
As he tried to think of her,.
Hoping to unwind.
Seeing her outside,
Watching her walk away,
He prayed
And dreamed
That he could bring her to him;
Never thinking...
He might follow her.
