Too Bad
by Amy Michelle Hsieh

Pathetic and all alone
I sit here by the phone
How ridiculous I am for getting involved
Another problem is left unsolved
My happiness has once again

How pitiful I feel
I've been hooked upon your reel

Sad and again alone
My emptiness is so well known

My hopes for you have failed and I have been mistaken
But the courage I have to start over again
Is something you have not taken

With my head high and my eyes wide open
I'll look for something brand-new
I'll know exactly what to look for
It'll be someone the opposite of you

No longer pathetic, but still alone
I'm here turning off my phone

Because even if you call
It'll still be too late
I'm in no hurry, but I don't need to wait
And it's no excuse if you procrastinate
It's just too bad there won't be a second date
