The Man on the Other Side
by Mark Lorence Rognsvoog

Just the other night,
I was sitting home and feeling down.
I took a look into the mirror
and couldnít believe what I found.

The man on the other side
wasnít me inside those eyes.
But I guess heís been there quite awhile,
Iíve just never realized.

Well, I talked with him for a little while,
Wanted to know what brought him here.
He said he came by to take the place,
of the man that wasnít there.

The man on the other side
wasnít me inside those eyes.
He said heís been there quite a while
and it's about time I realized.

How can I keep going
now that all I loved is gone
and the man on the other side
has told me Iíve been wrong?

Since that time the man has left,
as I look into the mirror
And now itís just me staring back,
wishing you and the kids were here.

The man on the other side
wasnít me inside those eyes.
But now Iím back and Iím here to stay
because I have realized.

The man said one thing before he left,
and he said to remember it well.
He said he wonít be back, its up to me
and only time will tell.
