The time has passed, those days of pain;
You have left my broken heart.
I learned a lesson; I slowly changed,
So tonight, where shall I start?

You say your love has always lived.
Inside those walls it stayed,
While I bore all, and paid the price.
This 'hard heart' you seek, is the one you made.

A year ago there was something left.
I still longed for what we shared.
But you wouldn't stand for it; you took that too.
I knew then... you never cared.

My pride took over; my heart checked out.
I won't return to where I've been.
My first love ever, you broke my heart,
And you'll never do it again.
