A Little Too Late
by Sherry Lynn Anderson

It's a funny story but true;
They talk, I listen - but that's old, nothing new.

I try to say something and no one really cares;
I try to get some information but no one is ever there.

I try to be of some help, but no one will let me;
They just say, "don't worry we'll handle it," and then let it be.

I wish people would pause and let me say something...
Nothing big, I just want my voice heard.
But no, there's no use trying- I'll just get hurt.

Sometimes- then again, all the time, I feel extremely left out,
But no one really cares - they won't hear me scream or even shout.

I wish they would listen to what I'm trying to say,
But I'm afraid that when they finally do,
It will be a little too late...
