As I close my eyes
by Samantha  Dejesus

As I close my eyes to dream of the man I call mine,
as I sit here thinking of you,
with the snow falling
like the first time my heart beat for you...
As I close my eyes to see the man I call mine,
to unleash the happiness we felt
the day we held each other with never-ending time,
with hope and dreams we would become
the rainbow of bright colors beyond the sun, the sky,
the moon that lights up the smile
that comes from your eyes...
Every time that goes by is one more day of life
between you and I.
I hold you in the deeps of my soul,
so when I close my eyes I can see you
when you're not there to hold,
to feel the touch I need to take away
the black sorrows of mine,
to feel the heat from your lips that seems unreal.
One day I woke up sensing something was wrong.
Where are you today, my love?
Why can't I see you in the deeps of my mind?
Can it be the end of you and me?
Can it be the last time?
I close my eyes and see the man I call mine,
With the smile of gold and the heart of a gem,
and the sweet words that will never come to an end.
But one thing I know...
the love we felt for one another
will be in a box with a key that only you can open,
the place in my heart.
No matter where you go or who you're with,
you'll be the man I call mine.
