The Dance
by James  Walters

Did you send a dream to me?
Were the ghosts I saw
Dancing in each other's arms
Meant to give me pause?
Was the crystal melody
Just a phantom song;
Were there warnings in the words
That I can't recall?
Were those specter messengers
Meant to soothe my mind;
There were smiles I seem to see;
Were they meant as signs?
When the dancers vanished,
When the silence grew,
I could feel a prescence there
And I thought of you.
Did you send that dream to me?
If there is that chance,
Send it once again to me,
Let me join the dance.
