Thoughts of the Night
by Linda Margaret Fitzgerald

As the evening unfolds around us,
The beauty it holds creates an awesome silence.
Its mysterious darkness beckons lovers everywhere.
It shares only what the night can.

Its majestic array of glimmering silver
Overflows, flooding the vast sky above us.
We reach out with our souls
To this incredible creation.

We wish, we hope.
We are consumed with the peaceful joy it spreads.
It fills our hearts with romance;
Thoughts of sweet love flow gently through our minds.

We become wrapped up in this wonderous sight
And as we drift, we ponder dreams yet to be.
