Sweet Child of Mine
by Susan Rae Nott

Oh sweet gentle child of mine
Take each step one-day at a time
It doesn't matter what others say
I'll hold your hand all the way

One day you'll be free to skip and run
You'll feel the warmth of the summer sun
To play like other children all day long
And listen to the birds sing their song

For now see with my eyes hear with my ears
I'll be here no matter how many years
One day you'll open eyes and see for yourself
You're so beautiful, a picture of health

Until that the day sweet child of mine
I'll keep looking, hoping to see a sign
In my arms I hold you safe at night
Praying you regain your hearing and sight
