Living in Pain
by Susan Rae Nott

It's five o'clock and I'm awoken by pain
I reach for the tablets, relief I must gain
Without Dihydrocodeine I'd go insane
Do you know what it's like, constant pain
My knee has been smashed beyond repair
This is just another pain that I must bear
I live with a deeper pain beyond compare
It's burried within but I'm not saying where
When I'm exhausted I lay down to sleep
But even in dreams I still continue to weep
Why, oh, why must this pain run so deep
When will I have a sweet memory to keep
Have you ever loved someone and lost
Because you knew you couldn't pay the cost
Let me tell you it's like being touched by frost
But I carry on living through this holocaust
Do you know how it feels to be totally alone
Well, I'm not going to tell you, I won't moan
All I will say is I feel it in every single bone
But take my advice stay well out of this zone
