Letting Go
by Susan Rae Nott

Do you feel my heart beating?
Blood coursing through my veins
Eyes of stone, a vision of black
A lonely heart that can't be tamed

Days and nights blown to the wind
Heartache came, engulfed my life
Everybody hurt felt like letting go
It's hard to breathe toxic fumes

The night is mine again somehow
Turning back the hands of time
Your body moving close to mine
Sun shining through the rain

Soaring high amongst the clouds
Lifeless body lain to waste
Hands of time mere mortal clock
Can you feel my heartbeat's stopped?
