No Promise
by   Victoria

I question if it is love
I grope like a lunatic raving in the dungeon of a castle
Oblivious to reality
Not being able to confess the truth
I'm fearful I'll get beaten
Scarred by the depressions
Left from antique sweethearts
Readily waiting to recieve new ones
Terrified of suffering
Scrutinizing myself being tortured by my own thoughts
That seize me abroad
Knowing in my heart what is just and what is not
But eluding meditation on the impious
Attempting to escape the dark shadows that linger in my mind
They cannot be defeated
I cannot face them
I must run from them
