Brush Across My Skin
by Alyssa Anne Vitry

I used to have a heart
of my own
I used to sing a song
Only I could hear
Now it's been so long
Since you have held me near
I've waited for
and wanted more-
of you.

And late at night
Beneath our stars
I lie and think of you
Of all the things we haven't done
Those I wish to do
And even though I know that you
Smile where you are
It'd be nice to see your smile shine-
even from afar.

When I'm cold
I feel your touch
Brush across my skin
It's hard to dream
a dream at night
Without a sign of you
Now I long
to kiss your lips
And have you by my side
But how I wish
the warmth of you
Wouldn't make me scared.

There's nothing I wouldn't do
To find some one who cares.....
              .....Like you did.
