Heart's Protection
by Michelle Juliet Valdes

To dream the day into night
A peaceful, birthing slumber
Behind closed eyes and in the light
In his flesh she'll plunder

Only there in comfort's place
He'll let her in and wonder
Does this soul that touches face
Really want his comfort

Gazing into questioned eyes
She sees her own reflection
Are all her wants merely lies
Or simply heart's protection

They look away into the night
And see each other there
Naked flesh that feels so right
It might just be they really care
