Writing in the sand...
by Deb  Smart

As I sit
The tears flow constantly.
Where do I go,
What will we be?

A distant thought,
A slow memory,
An occasional smile,
To what never could be.

Or could we fight?
Could we rage?
That life decided
What was on the next page.

Do we sit, do we wait
Until the day one doesn’t care
Or do we stand up and take action
Finally do what we once didn’t dare?

They say give up
To move on,
We’re too young to decide
What plane this relationship is on.

So I ask
Where do we stand
As a force together
Or as a mere writing on the sand?

If we both care
If we both take a stand
Together you and I
We write the next page, hand in hand.
