Glimmer
by Katie Sue Simpson

As I sit here, alone
I see what I want life to be
You and I together
No one else crossing our mind
Just us- one mind
Deeply looking into each others eyes
Never to be happier

I know that won't happen
The lonliness will drag on
and on and on
Never to be disturbed,
By the glimmer of happiness

The lonliness will last
The lonliness will burn
My chances are slim
To survive in this world
Where everyone hates
No love in their hearts
Only cold, cruel sorrow
Bleeds and never departs
