Smile
by Natalie Ann Fryc

Can you help me remember how to smile?
Will you undo all this pain,
Make it seem alright?

Tell me you love me -
I'll pretend it's not a lie.

Kiss me goodnight;
Can you make my dream come true?
Let me have someone to love...
I don't mind if it's just you.

That perfection near you
Is too sweet to be true;
That sense of joy and laughter
Seems all too fake.

Then again why does it matter?

Can you just make it seem like love?
It's okay to fool us both.
In the end, will it ever matter
As long as you can make me smile
And make it alright?
