The Walls of the Room
by Stephen John Keating

The walls of the room echo with your memory.
The spot where we danced, our cheeks nestled tight.
I gaze around and thoughts come to mind,
of splendor and sparkle and love through the night.

The walls of the room echo with your memory.
The spot where you lay your head on my arm.
I gaze around and thoughts come to mind,
of laughter and innocent glee, oh so warm.

The walls of the room echo with your memory.
The spot where we sat amid candles and wine.
I gaze around and thoughts come to mind,
of passion and caring and days without time.

The walls of the room echo with your memory.
The spot where we lay and embraced as if one.
I gaze around and thoughts come to mind,
of hugs and caresses and soft kisses done.

The walls of the room echo with your memory.
The spot where we stood and said our goodbye.
I gaze around and thoughts come to mind,
of tears and remembrance and emotions run dry.
