First Love (My dream come true)
by Alyssa Anne Vitry
Tonight as I held your hand
I wished us off to some unborn place.
At the time I didn't know I loved you.
So still were the oak tress
That I watched their unmoving leaves in your eyes.
I can't recall how either did appear.
We drifted along a river
Hand in hand and cheek to cheek.
I knew then I loved you but I didn't say it.
As night decayed, so did my fear
That if I told you how I felt, you'd not respond.
So I chose not to speak.
When you saw my looks of confusion on my face:
Should I tell him, or no?
You looked me in the eyes.
You said you loved me and gripped me tight
My tears fell on your shoulder;
Salty tears of relief from my dazed heart.
