Longings
by James  Walters

Every dawning's golden light,
Lustrous in the sky...
Shepherds images of you
To my longing mind.

Images in ebony,
Sentineled by stars,
Gleam across the distance
To my longing heart.

With every glowing sunset,
I whisper your name low,
Quickening my every breath,
And comforting my soul...

'Til violet dreams seduce me
And span the galaxy -
And shatter all my longings
To bring you here to me.
