Rain

By: Chris Hughes

assume the shape of water
spread out on the table
and stay a while
seeping into every pore
of my skin

escape to the sky
hiding behind thunder,
sharing a secret
with lightning

pound mountains to dust
and carry them on your back,
handful by handful

find me lost in you
wishing to taste the scent of you
as you rock me to sleep
