Through dreams

By: Daydred Easton

Never have I awaited sleep
so longingly. so fiercely,
I yearn for my dreams;
those states of unconsciousness
that fulfill and provide angels their wings.
My eyes roll and twitch to corners,
searching for light in a cave.

Beams that surround your image,
influencing the way I behave.
In dreams many things occur.
Unexplainable fantasies are born.
The meek can walk on water
while other aspirations are torn.
When my subconscious rules
only one thing is absolute:

When dreams are my only tools
you conquer my destitution.
The mind gives no direction
just follows the path that pleases.
Every time that choice is made
Yours is the road it chooses.
Our reality is not often clear
for life masks what is real;

Through slumber
...I can pull you near.
Through dreams
...your embrace is what I feel.
