Esperanza

By: Enrique Alberto Hurtado Minotta

My sadness writes today
from my most profound pain,
Esperanza, the beloved sister,
she has just embarked upon the journey
without return until the infinite.
¡ How the death hurts, Lord, how it hurts!

The heat that irradiated your body
left in slow agony with your soul
for the unknown roads of the heaven
and the cold of death wrapped you one afternoon
and kept your body forever.
¡ How the death hurts, Lord, how it hurts!

Esperanza, my sister!
You left without saying good-bye, when nobody waited for it.
You departed first, in search of Papá,
for the roads of heaven and you left us immersed
in sadness and cry.
¡ How the death hurts, Lord, how it hurts!

Esperanza, beloved sister!
the street that saw you cross every morning,
will no longer be the same one.
Now you will walk the roads of the heaven, next to our father.
Your home was filled with a deep and sharp silence
as the grief that crosses my soul.
¡ How the death hurts, Lord, how it hurts!

Esperanza, my beloved sister.!
The paternal house without your presence
will no longer be the same one.
My mother will wait for you every morning!
knowing that nevermore you will return and
although she knows that nevermore you will return,
she will converse with you until the falling afternoon.
¡ How the death hurts, Lord, how it hurts!

Esperanza, beloved sister!
We will cry you because, with our tears,
we will make a garden with flowers of cries where
daily come the birds to intone songs of love
as you liked them.
¡ How the death hurts, Lord, how it hurts!

Esperanza, beloved sister!
You left without saying good-bye- in search of the Creator!
You were whole, complete! as God brought you to the world!
I remember that afternoon when, in comatose state,
I discovered that a small tear leaned out to your eyes
and the rhythm of your heart accelerated when you heard our voices
Maybe your soul listened to us but your body didn't respond
God needed you to his side!
¡ How the death hurts, Lord, how it hurts!

Esperanza, beloved sister!
We will take care of your children-
and your house will continue being
the most beautiful of the neighborhood
because your spirit will be there.
Rest in peace, my beloved sister!
We will veil your dream eternally until we return
to find ourselves in the habitation of God!
¡ How the death it hurts, Lord, how it hurts!

They bend the bells of the church!
They invite to a funeral,
it is the Funeral Esperanza!

¡ How the death hurts, Lord, how it hurts!
