Reflection

By: Melissa Carol Harber

Light playing over slick silver glass
Black windows and steel watching them pass
Dark eyes searching for imperfection
What do you see in my reflection?

Stars in the water shine distant and late
Watching them ripple I whisper and wait
Wishing for just a little affection
What did you see in my reflection?

Mirror cracked against the wall
The windows of a soul, show nothing at all
An echo of a sigh makes no connection
And leaves me alone with my reflection.
